July 22-23, 2026 (Wednesday) - My solo overnight trip to the National Museum of Marine Biology & Aquarium was very fulfilling. I encountered many different people and things. Although it was a bit boring, life is about taking spontaneous trips sometimes. I slept very well last night, but the grandparents sleeping next to me woke up earlier, so I woke up early too. They don't really separate men and women, so you can sleep wherever you want. The morning activities are also flexible, so you can choose whether you want to participate or not. Dinner and breakfast are all-you-can-eat, which I think is pretty good. The only downside is that there might be someone snoring next to you. Overall, it was not bad. The guide I met was very attentive and explained things to us. We also met a Thai tourist who gave a presentation in English, which was really amazing. Although I took the high-speed rail and then transferred, it was easy. The reason I was a bit tired was because of the transfer, but it was worth it. I need to save money for my next spontaneous trip.

I wanted to visit the southern tip of Taiwan and became interested in Kenting. I almost gave up on the idea because I realized it was difficult to get there by train and bus, but then I found this tour, and I'm so glad I did. The tour efficiently takes you to the main sights of Kenting. The aquarium entrance fee is paid separately in cash on the bus. Kiwi-san guided us using Chinese, English, and Japanese. We were able to connect via LINE on the day of the tour, and I could confirm any unclear points through LINE.

Since three members of our family don't have motorcycle licenses, and we also wanted to minimize our environmental impact, we chose Yi Shun Motorcycle Shop, which is directly opposite the ferry terminal. We selected four light motorcycles that don't require a license, and we quickly got the hang of riding them. Although they're a bit sluggish uphill and can't carry passengers, there's really no need to ride too fast on the island; riding alone is quite pleasant! Advantages: Light motorcycles are easy to handle and park. My wife and daughter, who have no motorcycle experience, also had a lot of fun. My son wanted to go faster but didn't complain; in fact, the slightly speed-limited light motorcycles made me feel safer. A 20-inch carry-on suitcase can be fitted under the legs, so I can carry my luggage to the port myself. Disadvantages: No phone holder included, and riding with one hand while looking for directions is a bit dangerous. Battery changing time is only 7am-4:30pm, so you need to plan your itinerary; those who like nighttime activities should think twice. A round trip around the island takes up 20% of the electricity, and the sudden stops and starts at high speeds also consume a lot of power. This is an experience I gained later, but I didn't know it at the beginning, so I had some anxiety about the power consumption.
