I originally signed up for diving, but later couldn't overcome my fear of water and switched to snorkeling. The instructors were all very nice, always checking on the participants and introducing other fish species besides whale sharks. Observing whale sharks up close was breathtaking; they're like gentle, big children in the sea! The fish feeding activity was also very fun. There are showers on shore, but you need to bring your own toiletries if needed. The only downside was the lack of hair dryers; long hair had to air dry.

The service of Irisan was very good during the two-day chartered car tour. There were water and umbrellas in the car. The driver was very steady and gave a brief introduction to the places we passed. Although it was all in Japanese, I was able to grasp the key points and there was no problem in simple communication.
