This trip was fantastic. Here are some tips and suggestions: 1. The hotel pick-up and drop-off service near the high-speed rail station was very convenient. 2. The driver on the way there explained everything very clearly. 3. A big thank you to our driver, Mr. Black Sesame, for helping us find a better luggage storage option, saving us a lot of time. 4. The hotel was in a great location, very close to everything. 5. The tour guide spoke very clearly, ensuring everyone could hear him, and even helped take photos! 6. However, the tour guide walked a bit fast, and some people had difficulty keeping up.
We had an excellent experience on the Alishan tour. The itinerary was well planned, allowing us to enjoy the scenic mountain views, forests, and iconic Alishan highlights without feeling rushed.
The guide, Mr. Katsu (卡子)called everyone one day before tour to make sure we arrive at the right place. He was knowledgeable, professional, energetic and attentive, providing clear explanations about the history, nature, and culture of Alishan while ensuring everyone stayed on schedule. Timing at each stop was thoughtfully managed, giving us enough time for photos and appreciation of the surroundings. Moreover, he took ~100 photo for us and even make us a video.
Overall, this 1-day tour was very well run and offered great value. I would highly recommend the Alishan tour to anyone looking for a convenient, enjoyable, and memorable way to experience this beautiful region.
Alishan National Forest Recreation Area tickets CP value is good, buying tickets will give small gifts, quite thoughtful. And e-tickets are very convenient, mobile phones can do it all, no need to queue up to exchange tickets. Once inside, you can enjoy the sunrise, the sea of clouds and the forest of sacred trees, which is great for photography and hiking. Friends who like nature must try it, the ticket price is reasonable, recommended!
The first thing that surprised me was how simple it was from purchasing in advance to receiving the ticket. After paying online, you can get your ticket in no time by simply presenting your passport at the station, so even first-time travelers can use it without any hesitation. The discount rate was very noticeable, and even traveling from Taipei to Taichung and Tainan saved more than I expected. The interior of the train was quiet and clean, the ride was comfortable, and the travel time was also a nice plus. Some tickets have restrictions on changes, so it is best suited to people with a set itinerary, but it offers an excellent balance of cost-effectiveness and convenience, making it a service that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to travel Taiwan efficiently.
Although I didn't get to see the sunrise in the best condition, it was a very good tour. (Guide: Kaja) I don't speak Chinese, but I went on a Chinese tour, and I was able to listen to explanations well through GPT and Samsung Interpreter. I also provided my own interpretation, but the guide was very attentive and helpful, which was great. The other tour guides were also very kind and helpful, which made it even more enjoyable. Considering that we hiked the winding roads for hours in the middle of the night, even having our own guide, and had to wind our way back down, it was worth the money. ;) I don't think an English guide was necessary. I'm not very good at English, so I would have used GPT anyway... haha. The only thing you need to prepare separately is the Alishan entrance ticket, which is conveniently available for foreigners. It's best to purchase it in advance on a website like KKday, Klook, or Trip.com. You can purchase your train tickets on-site. That means you'll need to bring some cash if you want to eat something before buying the train ticket. Oh, and they announce the departure time, just like the train departure time, but if you wait in line, they'll sell tickets as long as they're available. Don't worry too much, just follow the guide's instructions. It was a sunrise tour, but due to weather issues, we couldn't see the clouds or the sunrise at the foot of the mountain. We did see the sunrise above the clouds 30 minutes after sunrise. Even if the results of our efforts aren't immediately apparent, we leave with the hope that the light will eventually emerge, just like the clouds that hide behind them. I'm leaving a review because it was such a great trip. If you're traveling to Taichung, definitely sign up for this tour! In closing, I'd like to thank the person from Taipei who helped us communicate and the person holding the camera :)
No need to exchange cards; the driver simply scans the QR code with his phone to board. The scenery along the way is beautiful, and the driver's skills are superb!
The car was the same model as ordered, which was great. The driver drove very smoothly and we arrived safely. I highly recommend ordering it!
