It's convenient to reserve your seat online. Just show it to the driver when you arrive and you're on the bus. The location is also easy to find, just a short walk from Hsinchu Train Station, though you'll need to carry a few stairs with luggage. The bus seats are very comfortable and sleep-inducing, and the ride to Taoyuan International Airport takes just an hour.

During the holiday, I rented a car for 24 hours. The platform listed the rental price as NT$1,750, but I actually had to add NT$267 in ETC tolls, NT$1,885 in mileage fees, and NT$450 in zero-deductible insurance. For a total of 29 hours, the cost was NT$4,352. While it's still not cheap, the overall service was excellent, and the car was in excellent condition.
