Getting to Yamanashi Prefecture from Tokyo is very convenient. You can take the JR Chuo Line Limited Express train from Shinjuku Station, which takes about 1.5 hours. There is no airport within Yamanashi Prefecture. If you are traveling from overseas, it is recommended to fly to Tokyo first, then transfer to the JR Chuo Line to Yamanashi.
