The Kurobe Dam, standing at 186 meters tall, is Japan's tallest dam. This arched reservoir took seven years to build and involved the efforts of over 10 million people. From late June to mid-October each year, the dam releases water at a spectacular rate of over 10 tons per second! Visitors can stroll along the dam's walkway, climb the 220-step observation deck, or visit the "Rainbow Terrace" to witness this natural waterfall-like flood discharge.

[We will use 6 unique and eco-friendly mountaineering methods] We will traverse the majestic Tateyama-Kurobe Alps using 6 different modes of transportation: the Tateyama Ropeway, the Tateyama Highland Bus, the Tateyama Tunnel Trolleybus, the Tateyama Ropeway, the Kurobe Ropeway, and the Kanden Tunnel Trolleybus. The Tateyama-Kurobe Alps route has two entrances: Tateyama Station in Toyama Prefecture and Ogisawa Station in Nagano Prefecture. Just traversing the mountain range takes nearly 4 hours, and with activities like walking through the Daisetsu Valley, the entire trip will likely take a full day.

Kamikochi, Japan's only pristine paradise: Located at an altitude of 1,500 meters, Kamikochi, along with the surrounding mountains, is part of the Chubu Sangaku National Park. From mid-October to early May, there is occasional snow cover, and the ground is still covered in remnants of snow. Temperatures rarely exceed 15 degrees Celsius, making it feel like winter. This feeling is especially pronounced when fog is thick and winds are strong. Therefore, please be sure to prepare winter clothing when visiting Kamikochi.

One of Japan's three great Gassho-zukuri villages, Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri Village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This fairytale town is located in Gifu Prefecture in central Japan, where more than 113 Gassho-zukuri houses stand. These traditional wooden houses with thatched roofs are characterized by their unique gable roofs with the shape of two hands clasped together.

Kenrokuen, one of the three great gardens, is named for its combination of "six sublime qualities." These six qualities refer to grandeur, seclusion, human intervention, antiquity, water features, and panoramic views. Because a typical garden, in order to showcase a spaciousness (grandeur), inevitably lacks tranquility and depth (seclusion); adding artificial elements (human intervention) easily diminishes its rustic charm (antiquity); and using too many waterfalls or ponds (water features) loses its expansive view (panoramic view). The poem mentions that only the Lake Garden in Rakuyang can simultaneously achieve these six qualities. Kenrokuen is a "stroll garden." It makes full use of its land area, planting colorful flowers, trees, and shrubs, and interspersing pavilions, artificial hills, ponds, winding streams, and teahouses in suitable locations, requiring visitors to wander through these elements to fully appreciate the garden's beauty.
