Overall, the experience was great, but the actual itinerary ended an hour earlier than the scheduled 7:30 pm finish time, returning to Nagoya Station at 6:30 pm. There wasn't enough time for lunch and shopping in Takayama City.
We joined a day trip on February 16th. Our tour guide, Ms. Sun, arranged the itinerary very well, giving us ample time for each stop. Our fellow travelers were also very punctual (thumbs up!). The kids had a blast at the Pastoral Village, and the snow banana boats were great (only once!). The donut-shaped snow tubs and skis were endless fun. The Gassho-zukuri village was beautiful. We had a 2.5-hour stop, but unfortunately, I spent some time at the Pudding House and the yakiniku (grilled meat skewers). If I hadn't spent that time, we could have explored more leisurely. The return trip was smooth with no traffic, and we were back at the station before 5:30 PM. This day trip is highly recommended for families with children who want to enjoy snow activities and beautiful scenery!
