Pick up and return the trams across from the pier; the trams are in good condition and easy to operate. The trams are environmentally friendly and highly recommended.
Purchasing tickets here often offers discount coupons, making prices generally cheaper than on the official website. Regarding ticket collection and boarding: On the day of departure, bring your ID card and go directly to the pier counter one hour before departure to collect your tickets (your booking information is already at the counter; only one person needs to collect everyone's ID cards). You will receive your return ticket along with your original ticket; please keep it safe. For the return trip, bring your ticket and arrive at the pier at least 30 minutes before departure to queue for boarding. My only concern when booking was the current policy that "the booking result will be confirmed no later than 7 days before departure" and "cancellation is not allowed." This means that in the worst-case scenario, confirmation of the booking wouldn't be available until 7 days before departure, and cancellation wouldn't be possible before then, which was a little unsettling. However, if you want earlier confirmation, you can directly call Venus Ferry customer service; their staff are friendly and professional and can assist in confirming the booking status. Tips: (1) Luggage space is limited. If you are carrying two pieces of luggage (such as two large backpacks, or one large backpack and one suitcase), it is recommended to arrive at the waiting area early to avoid not having a place to put them. (2) The air conditioning inside the ship is quite strong. People who are afraid of the cold are advised to bring a light jacket. (3) The journey is relatively long (about 2.5 hours without Green Island; about 3 hours with Green Island). If you are worried about seasickness, remember to prepare seasickness medicine.
I've used the 3-day pass several times, and this time it included three days of rides on the Taiwan High-Speed Rail and two days of rides on the subway, plus a 300 NTD Uber coupon as the other option. It's an incredible deal. I had a little trouble activating it, but it's really a great deal. However, previously, with the High-Speed Rail 3-day pass, I could reserve a seat at the ticket counter, but this time they only let me reserve a seat when I picked up the pass, and I was told that I had to reserve seats in advance afterward and that I could only ride in unreserved seats. I used unreserved seats from the second day onward. The High-Speed Rail website that provides the pass does indeed say that unreserved seats are available, but kkd a y's instructions said that you could reserve seats at the ticket counter. I was glad I was able to get a seat in the unreserved section this time.
The tour was changed to one in Chinese and English, but the driver used Google Translate's speaker to communicate, so we managed to get by. It was raining, so we were supposed to leave the location around 7:00 PM, but the other people in the same car gathered earlier, so we left around 6:40 PM and arrived at the Shinkansen station around 7:40 PM.
