Product Info

We invite you to the Omagari Fireworks, one of the most iconic summer festivals in the Tohoku region!!
The 98th Omagari National Fireworks Competition - Gather at Omagari, the place every pyrotechnician dreams of!! Who will be crowned the best fireworks master in Japan!?

The Omagari National Fireworks Competition is the premier fireworks event in Japan in terms of both scale and prestige, so much so that when people say 'National Fireworks Competition,' they are referring to this one. It is supported by the Japan Pyrotechnics Association and is one of only two events in the country—the other being the Tsuchiura All Japan Fireworks Competition (Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture)—where the Prime Minister's Award is presented. The venue is surrounded by Himegami Mountain and Fukuden Mountain on the opposite bank; the way these mountains reflect the sound and the lack of light pollution that would interfere with viewing the fireworks are considered some of the event's proudest features.

【About the Omagari National Fireworks Competition】

■ Please note that the fireworks event may be canceled due to requests from national or local governments. The content of the event may also be subject to change.

■ Please be aware that there is significant congestion every year, and it takes about 40 to 60 minutes to walk one way from the viewing area to the parking lot. Please wear comfortable shoes. It is recommended to bring a flashlight to illuminate your path. Additionally, due to expected traffic congestion after the fireworks, arrival at the hotel will be after midnight. The fireworks will proceed in the rain, but may be canceled in the event of severe weather. Please note that there will be no refunds for the tour price if the fireworks display is canceled or postponed after the tour has departed.
