Wanluo Township

From an unassuming roadside stall to today's widely acclaimed local delicacy, for seventy years, Lin Family Pork Knuckles has almost become synonymous with Wanluo Township, guided by Grandma Lin Chen Yumei's initial persistence and belief.

The villages in Wanluo Township include Luliao Village, Wanluo Village, Wanhe Village, Wan Quan Village, Liuhuang Village, and others.

There are widespread legends about the origin of the name 'Wanluo'. One theory suggests that when early settlers first cultivated the land, they saw the majestic Dawu Mountain's peaks stretching out like 'ten thousand' ('wan') 'mountain' ('luo') peaks, and thus named it. As for the formation of the 'Six Stack Organization,' it was due to the ancestors' realization that in the early stages of cultivation, the Qing government's ruling power was insufficient and much was in disarray, leading to self-governance to maintain order, hence the emergence of the Six Stack Organization.

Wanluo Township is famous for its pork knuckles, which are renowned throughout Taiwan, making it an important tourist and culinary destination. The township retains a simple rural atmosphere, attracting many tourists to experience the local culture.
