Linbian Township

Linbian Township was formerly known as 'Linzibian.' Legend has it that early Han Chinese settlers, upon arriving and seeing the dense forests, established their settlement beside the green jungle, hence the name. During the Japanese colonial era, the Japanese simplified 'Linzibian' to 'Linbian.' Linbian Township was historically the activity area of the Makatau tribe's Fangsuo community, with settlements forming around the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong era.

In Linbian Township, you can cycle along the Dapeng Bay Bicycle Path or the Harborfront Bicycle Path to enjoy the coastal scenery. Additionally, the Linbian Guangcai Wetland Agricultural Park and Qifeng Wetland Park offer opportunities to connect with nature and experience the beauty of wetland ecosystems.

Currently, Linbian Township is divided into 10 villages: Linbian Village, Guanglin Village, Renhe Village, Zhonglin Village, Yongle Village, Tiancuo Village, Qifeng Village, Shuili Village, Zhen'an Village, and Zhulin Village.

Linbian Township is the hometown of the famous 'Black Pearl' wax apple, and you'll find wax apples everywhere here. Every autumn, fruit farmers display plump wax apples at their doorways, not only selling them to visitors but also busily packing them for home delivery. Wax apples are like warm lights, illuminating this fertile land on the Pingtung coast, and embodying the collective memories of the local residents.
