Jiji or Chichi town in Nantou county

Jiji Township began to be developed during the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong era. Due to its geographical location, it became a place where mountain residents gathered to cultivate, harvest, and trade goods, thus earning the name 'Jiji' (meaning to gather). It boasts a long historical evolution and unique industrial culture. The Zhuoshui River also flows close to Jiji, and the water, stones, and driftwood in the river are important elements for agricultural production and artistic creation, shaping the unique local culture of the Zhuoshui River.

Mount Jiji is one of the southernmost ridges of the Chilan Mountain Range, with an altitude of 1,390 meters. It is one of Taiwan's 'Little Baiyue' (Small 100 Mountains) and can be seen from the Jiji urban area. The climbing route can be accessed from Daping Lane next to Fushan Elementary School, leading to the summit via an industrial road. The entire path is paved with cement, suitable for vehicles, and also serves as a challenging cycling route.

The temple in Nantou's Jiji that was damaged by the 921 earthquake and had its original site preserved as a disaster memorial site is Wuchang Temple. The old Wuchang Temple collapsed during the 921 earthquake in 1999. A new temple was later built in front of the original site, and the new temple was completed in 2013.
