This was my first trip to Hokkaido, and I wanted to see the transition from dusk to sunset, so I made a reservation for 5:30 PM. I arrived earlier than expected, but when I explained at the counter, they let me board the next one right away. I transferred to a mini cable car and went up to the top, where I spent my time leisurely admiring the scenery and walking around until sunset. However, there were few places to sit, and even though it was May, the wind was strong and it was very cold. Warm clothing is essential. I decided to admire the scenery until around 7:15 PM and then head down, and when I went to the ropeway station there was quite a line, but I was able to board and go down right away. On the other hand, there were many people coming up, so if you're going to see the night view at this time, I think you should definitely make a reservation. If you go in the 5 PM hour, you might be able to go without a reservation.
Unlike roaming, it doesn't lag when used; the experience is quite good. It's worth buying if it's cheap. The card seems to have a phone number on it, but I haven't tested it by calling yet. It would be even better if I could leave my phone number to make restaurant reservations.
It seemed like they only accepted cash, so I paid with my credit card at KKday. I was glad I could use my accumulated points to get a good deal. I was thrilled by the handsome lion, and the many elephants were moving around quite energetically; I could have watched them forever.
