Of the three day trips I participated in, this one didn't have a tour guide on the bus. It had its pros and cons. There was a recorded tour on the bus, or you could download an app to listen to it online. However, without a tour guide to point out directions, you had to find the locations of the attractions yourself. Nevertheless, it was still a worthwhile way to visit important attractions without renting a car.
February 4, 2026: The trip was fantastic! Our driver and guide, Xiao Li, provided excellent service. He was very warm and attentive to his guests. He took us on a boat trip, where the boatmen gave enthusiastic performances. There were heated tables, which kept us warm in winter. He also recommended the eel rice, which was delicious and served in a beautiful setting. It was a great trip for families and a relaxing and enjoyable day. Thank you, Xiao Li!
The driver was very friendly and provided excellent service! Thank you so much! I hope to have the opportunity to book your car again. Five-star review! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Everything was great with our small group! Cico gave a very thorough introduction, and the driver drove very smoothly – a perfect day trip! Boating on the Yanagawa River was fun, and we also had delicious eel rice.
We exchanged our tickets for paper tickets at Fukuoka Station, which was very convenient. The Nishitetsu trains are frequent, but Yanagawa is quite far, so we chose the limited express. There's a free shuttle bus from the Yanagawa exit to the Matsugae ferry terminal to take a sightseeing boat. The boats have heated blankets in winter, and the boatmen will introduce the scenery of Yanagawa and sing songs. In the afternoon, we went to Tenmangu Shrine. The Nishitetsu train connections were excellent. We exchanged our tickets for umeboshi mochi (plum blossom rice cakes) from Terada-ji Temple; they were delicious, and there were many tourists there.
