The content was plentiful. The bus was comfortable. The tour guide was very nice. The snacks were delicious. Victoria Peak was incredibly beautiful.

The service, train, and itinerary were all excellent; however, the meals could have been of higher quality.

We participated in a chartered tour of Mt. Taiheizan with three people. The tour lasted about 10 hours, but it was incredibly fulfilling and enjoyable from start to finish. Our driver and guide, Man, was truly wonderful. His English was very fluent, and communication was completely stress-free. He mentioned having conducted this tour hundreds of times, and we were impressed by his thoughtful attention to detail, such as giving us detailed advice on clothing beforehand and suggesting a warm lunch (which we could heat up with hot water) because the summit gets cold. The car was a Toyota RAV4, which was spacious and comfortable even for three people. The driving was very careful even on mountain roads, and we felt safe and comfortable without any motion sickness. Being able to charge our cell phones in the car was also a great help. We enjoyed the trolley car, which utilizes the old forest railway tracks, the beautiful trails, and the Hatonosawa Onsen hot springs. Making our own hot spring eggs and boiled corn were also fun memories. On the bus, the KKday guide, who was leading another tour, took many wonderful photos for us, making us think, "I'm so glad I chose the KKday tour!" At the end, Man-san even took us to a Sanxing scallion pancake stall, which she recommended, and we got to enjoy a freshly made one. That was amazing too! This is a very worthwhile tour that offers a slightly different experience from a typical Taiwan trip, allowing you to enjoy nature, hot springs, and local cuisine all in one day. Since up to five people can ride in one bus, it's reasonably priced for families or groups. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy Taipingshan. I'd always wanted to experience a vintage train ride, and this was finally my chance! I was initially worried about the typhoon and heavy rains in southern Taiwan, fearing it might be canceled or I'd miss the scenery. On August 28th, my husband and I drove from Tainan to Fangliao, and it rained heavily the whole way. I thought all hope was lost… But then, heaven heard my plea! On the way there, the rain stopped or just started to drizzle. Finally, on the way to Taitung, I saw the blue sea I'd been longing for—it was absolutely stunning! It was totally worth it! ☺️ The staff at the Blue Ocean Museum were incredibly kind and helpful, and they settled everyone in order. The itinerary was perfectly arranged! The journey from Fangliao to Taitung takes about 3 hours. There are delicious Taiwan Railway pork rib bento boxes and refreshing sweet fruits to enjoy. There are also small vendors on the Blue Train that you can browse around a bit. The onboard guide was very attentive, explaining the story of the Blue Train's "Relief from Worries" service. The train stops at various stations along the way (Jialu/Dawu/Duoliang/Jinlun/Taimali/Zhiben). The guide also provides specific explanations on and off the train about where to collect stamps and take photos. Knowing that the Blue Train only has fans and no air conditioning, so the windows can be opened, even though it was raining and windy, I still sweated quite a bit! My husband and I are both very sensitive to heat, but we both found the experience unique and fun! Next time, I hope to take the train back from Taitung to Fangliao and see if it's a different experience!

For rainy days, this indoor itinerary is suitable for family visits. KKDay offers instant access; there are many small animals, and the semi-open space is quite nice overall. 👍 There are gashapon (capsule toys) for feeding animals (50 NTD per visit). Tickets include discount coupons for food inside the park. The cafe area is a bit pricey, but it also includes a free voucher for feeding the lambs once.
