Product Info

Why not experience the 'authentic' countryside of Japan, surrounded by the rich nature of the Satoyama that changes with the seasons, warm home-cooked meals made with seasonal ingredients prepared with the sincerity of local farmers, and interactions with the local community in the heart of Japan's original landscape?

This is a special tour where you can experience Japan's original landscape and traditional culture in the beautiful Satoyama of Minami-Shinshu.
On this tour, you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and deeply savor the 'essence' of Japan in the quiet area of Tenryukyo, located in Iida City, Nagano Prefecture.

Depart from JR Toyohashi Station on the Tokaido Shinkansen, traveling in a chartered limited express train to JR Tenryukyo Station.
On board, you can enjoy special snacks and drinks supervised by 'Yugimoto,' a renowned local restaurant listed among the 35 'Gold' award-winning establishments out of 850,000 restaurants nationwide on a famous Japanese restaurant review site.
In Tenryukyo, the main area of the trip, we have prepared experiences that will resonate deeply with your heart. These include the 'Tenryukyo Line Kudari' (boat ride), a nature experience descending through the scenic spots of the Quasi-National Park colored by the four seasons; food and agricultural experiences featuring the legendary 'Tenryukyo Black Pork' and 'specialty apples' that can only be tasted locally; and 'farm stays' where you can stay with local farmers and experience Japanese rural life. Furthermore, you can experience 'Wayuraku,' which passes on Iida's classical performing arts, and the 'Imada Ningyo Joruri,' a traditional rural performing art.
In addition, this region is home to villages where mysterious festivals are held to 'entertain the gods with hot springs.' It is said to have been the inspiration for a world-famous animated film, and the traditions of old Japan are still alive here.
Transportation is provided for the entire itinerary, and you can also choose the hard-to-book 'Yugimoto' dinner as an optional add-on.

The 'ordinary' aspects of daily life in the countryside are 'special' to those living in the city. We invite you to rediscover the gratitude and warmth found in that 'ordinary' life and gain a one-of-a-kind, fundamental experience through deep connections with local people that go beyond mere sightseeing. Please experience a journey filled with warmth that makes you want to say 'I'm home' and 'I'm off,' as if returning to your own roots.
