1. Although the drive is long, there are opportunities to rest, and the scenery along the way is quite beautiful. 2. Stay at Hakuba Green Plaza; dinner buffet offers a wide variety of options. 3. After the first day's hike up the Kochi plateau, the drive to the hotel takes about 3 hours, with a stop at a 7-Eleven for restroom breaks. It's recommended to enjoy the scenery during the first part of the drive, as you'll pass an apple orchard. After the second part, it will be almost dark by the time you finish at the 7-Eleven, so go to sleep when it's completely dark outside. 4. Arrive in Nagoya at exactly 6:00 PM on the return trip. 5. I think this itinerary is fantastic. It solved the transportation problem, and if you choose the right season and the weather is good, you can see incredibly beautiful scenery and even play in the snow.
Our tour guide, Sun Yuren, was incredibly kind and managed our schedule perfectly, giving us the most time. This trip was incredibly worthwhile and would have been impossible to complete on your own. The scenery at Kamikochi and Mt. Tatebe-Kuroyama was truly stunning. We were truly fortunate to have excellent accommodations and meals this time.
Although the initial meeting time was not exact, the itinerary clearly stated meeting at 8:00 and departing at 8:10. Upon arrival, our guide, Chen, said the meeting time would be between 8:10 and 8:20:25. While this didn't affect our arrival time, the inaccurate timing made us adhere to the schedule and even arrived much earlier. One person couldn't find the meeting place, and a whole group had to wait. I think the meeting and departure times should be more clearly stated. Also, the round trip to Kamikochi took 3.5 hours by car, which was a bit tiring, but thankfully, it was worth it. We stopped at Daisho Pond, got off the car, and walked slowly, taking photos, until we reached Kappa Bridge. It took nearly two hours, compared to the official timeline of 80 minutes, so it took quite a while. The lake was so beautiful and clear. I wanted to get down to the shore, but I was afraid of falling. There were people taking beautiful photos below. The most important thing to do after the trip was to use the restroom, which required 100 yen, which you can redeem.
Most of the reviews were from Chinese people, so I was worried about a language barrier. Our guide, who is Chinese, spoke English fluently and provided explanations in Chinese, English, and Korean throughout the trip, using a translator! He also added us on Messenger in each country, so we could chat with him and share important information, which made our trip a breeze. There are two routes, with different starting points depending on where you get off the bus, so choose the one that best suits your stamina and schedule. After getting off the bus, you're free to explore at your own pace until you reach the return bus stop. Nagoya Station is so vast that navigating it can be challenging, so I recommend visiting the departure bus stop the day before. I actually got lost and almost missed my bus. Thanks to him, I was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery without any problems. Our guide was also friendly and provided us with all the necessary information, which was truly appreciated. The souvenir recommendations were especially helpful, and we ended up buying a ton of delicious treats. I highly recommend!
The tour leader was very good on the trip. The hotel rooms were a bit old, but the appearance was grand. The food was delicious and the hot springs were nice.
