Furano is famed for its stunning scenery. During the summer, the area attracts visitors with its stunning lavender fields while the winter months bring in the powder hounds. Its natural beauty makes it a highly rewarding destination for all seasons.

Furano Ski Resort Lifts operate from the end of November to the beginning of May and with over eight metres of some of the lightest and driest powder snow falling on 24 runs, Furano offers some of the best skiing in Japan. The resort is renowned for its exceptional snow quality.

Mid-July is the best time to see Furano's lavender. Farm Tomita is the most popular, attracting as many as one million visitors annually. One of the charms of the Furano area is the beautiful natural scenery in all four seasons, such as the grand Tokachi mountain range and vast pastoral landscapes.

Furano is small enough that you can easily get around by foot and by taxi if you want to go downtown. In summer you can ride a bike around which you can hire in town. While a car offers flexibility, it's not strictly necessary for exploring the main areas.

Furano is most famous for its breathtaking lavender fields, particularly at Farm Tomita, which bloom vibrantly in the summer months. Beyond the lavender, visitors can enjoy the picturesque rolling hills, the majestic Tokachi mountain range, and in winter, the world-class Furano Ski Resort.
