Please note that this is different from the general 'Shirakawa-go Illumination' and does not include illumination within the main Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri village. As entry into the village is not permitted after 17:00, we will guide you through the village on the second day. The illumination event will generally proceed in rain or snow, but may be canceled for safety reasons in the event of severe weather.
The ground may be slippery, so please wear non-slip, waterproof footwear. We also recommend bringing a flashlight as walking on snowy roads at night can be very dangerous. This tour involves outdoor walking at night. Temperatures can drop below freezing, so please prepare cold-weather gear (warm clothing, coats, disposable heat packs, warm gloves, warm hats, earmuffs, etc.).
