  • Each adult or rail pass holder may accompany up to 2 children (ages 1–5) for free. A child rail pass must be purchased for the 3rd child and beyond. 
  • Infants under the age of 1 may travel free of charge. 
  • In the following situations, each child must have their own child rail pass:
    ① When a child occupies a reserved seat in an ordinary car
    ② When a child is traveling alone 
  • All JR passes are issued under the traveler’s name. Please ensure all required information is accurately provided at the time of booking, as any delays or errors due to missing or incorrect information will be the responsibility of the traveler. Additional fees may apply for any modifications. 
  • In addition to JR Green Windows, JR PASS eMCOs can also be redeemed at “5489” service Green Ticket Machines located in JR West stations. Please check the official website for more details.

    - If the ticket machine is out of service or your passport does not have an IC chip, please redeem your physical ticket at the designated station’s green window.
  2. JR West Green Window (Manual Redemption): Go to a JR Green Window and present your eMCO electronic voucher along with your personal passport to receive a physical ticket.
    - If redeeming via the ticket machine, there is no need to verify the voucher or passport name. However, at the manual counter, staff will check that the voucher matches your passport name.
    - Only travelers with an IC chip passport can use the self-service machines. If your passport lacks an IC chip or if machine redemption fails, please redeem manually at the counter.
  3. Reserved Seat Tickets: Before use, take your physical ticket to a green ticket machine or green window to exchange for a reserved seat ticket.
    - For detailed instructions, please refer to the official website.
    - For passes that allow unlimited reserved seat exchanges, starting from the 7th exchange and beyond, you must make the reservation manually at a green window; it cannot be done at the machine.
