The staff member who led us spoke fluent Chinese, explained things clearly, and was very friendly. Swimming with whale sharks was an amazing experience! Although it was just snorkeling, swimming with the whale sharks through a net, the distance was incredibly close. Of course, if you were diving, you could get even closer. It's recommended to take motion sickness medication beforehand, as although it's only a 15-minute boat ride to the designated area, larger waves can cause seasickness while snorkeling. Our "guide" mentioned that this is probably the only company in Okinawa that can arrange whale shark swims, as keeping a whale shark is very expensive, and this particular whale shark was authorized by the local government. It's advisable to book at least two weeks in advance and to allow for flexibility in your Okinawa itinerary, as the activity date may need to be changed due to unpredictable weather. Overall, I highly recommend this activity!
The tour leader was very friendly, and the itinerary was packed with sights. Some places, like Kouri Island, were a bit rushed, but that was unavoidable due to the distance. Also, if you're planning to visit the aquarium on the southern itinerary, remember not to buy tickets online yourself; the tour leader will give everyone a 30% discount coupon on the bus.
My first surfing experience was going to be tough, and it was indeed not that easy. But the instructors were very patient, and although the whole trip was tiring, it was also a lot of fun!
Sister Jin provides detailed information, contacts group members in advance, the itinerary is very punctual, the minibus is driven very smoothly, and she cares about each group member.
This trip was relatively short, and we weren't planning on driving, so taking a tour bus was a great option. The itinerary was comprehensive, we could rest on the bus, and there was an audio guide available. The driver was friendly and reminded us of the boarding time at each stop, and there were even small gifts!
