1. Oritsuraku Tower 2. Sea Paseo 3. Lobby Lounge, Hiroshima Grandview Hotel Sea Paseo is a must-ride, as the Kure Line is often delayed, and the sunset view is superb. It's a good choice for those going to Kure City (45-minute ferry ride, 1100 yen/trip). The top of Oritsuraku Tower is very cool (even in the afternoon at the end of July) (worth 1000 yen). I originally chose the Ekie coupon, but I had already bought almost all the souvenirs, so I opted for the cake set instead. It was delicious, but not worth it (choose 1 of 3 cakes + 1 drink).
This trip to Okayama, Takamatsu, and Hiroshima was made possible by using the JR Okayama & Hiroshima & Yamaguchi Area Rail Pass 5-Day, which significantly reduced transportation costs. I could reserve seats on the Shinkansen to and from Hiroshima; and use the JR Pass for other destinations in Takamatsu, Kurashiki, and Okayama. One pass is all you need to travel everywhere!
Our family of five took the streetcar to Miyajima Station, then the ferry, and transferred on and off the city trams without needing to swipe a card or pay (a single streetcar ride costs $240), which was very economical and convenient. Just show it to the driver. Note that collection time is only until 5:00 PM.
