This unforgettable journey begins in Queenstown, travelling through the striking landscapes of Central Otago with scenic stops in Clyde and the historic township of St Bathans. A highlight of the experience is the iconic Taieri Gorge Train, where you’ll enjoy one of New Zealand’s most spectacular rail journeys as it winds through dramatic gorges and rugged countryside to Dunedin. Your evening is spent in Dunedin, staying at Distinction Hotels.

From Dunedin, the tour continues along the breathtaking Catlins Coast, a region renowned for its wild beauty and diverse scenery. Along the way, you’ll visit the Nugget Point Lighthouse, the cascading Purakaunui Falls, and the fossil-rich coastline of Curio Bay before arriving in Invercargill. Here, you’ll settle in for two nights at the Distinction Invercargill Hotel (guide does not stay in Invercargill with you).

A full day is dedicated to exploring Stewart Island, including lunch, a return ferry journey, Village & the Bay tour, & a guided walk on Ulva Island, a predator-free sanctuary teeming with rare native birdlife. With expert local guides, you’ll experience one of New Zealand’s most untouched natural environments before returning to Invercargill for the evening.

The journey then heads north to Te Anau, a peaceful lakeside town and the gateway to Fiordland National Park. After a relaxed morning in Invercargill, you’ll travel through stunning southern landscapes to Te Anau, where you’ll stay overnight in Te Anau.

The tour concludes with a cruise on the iconic Milford Sound, where towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and dramatic fiords create an unforgettable finale. Lunch is included as you take in this World Heritage–listed destination, before returning to Queenstown for your hotel drop-off.
