Kappa Bridge

The tour guide recommended the Pirate Chicken and the Golden Yoro Milk, which were delicious. The scenery along the way was breathtaking. Three and a half hours wasn't enough to reach Myojin Pond. I hope to have the opportunity to come back and complete the tour in the future.

This is a great option for families with mothers, as the path is relatively flat. Wear comfortable shoes. Our guide will accompany you from Taisho Pond to Kappa Bridge, stopping at rest stops along the way to see Lake Suwa and the Yatsugatake mountain range. The drive from Tokyo to Kamikochi takes four hours one way, but if there are group tours departing from Nagano, the journey to Kamikochi takes less than two hours. You can also explore the beautiful city of Nagano. Unlike Tokyo, the people in Nagano are very friendly. I hope everyone will encourage group tours departing from Nagano to be formed so you can experience the friendliness of the people and the beauty of the scenery.

If a car is providing transportation, passengers should be informed beforehand that the car only goes as far as Hirayu Onsen Station, and passengers must take a bus from the onsen station to Kamikochi themselves; otherwise, passengers will be caught off guard.

It was a truly lush and breathtaking view. I fully absorbed the magnificent scenery that the camera couldn't capture. Most of the people were Japanese, but it doesn't matter if you don't speak Japanese. The meeting place was a bit confusing. It took a long time because of the rain, but sleeping and then waking up to go trekking was the best.

The meeting point was next to a convenience store, where you could buy water or drinks for the journey after checking in. It was my first time visiting Kamikochi, and it was raining, which added to the experience. The air was fresh and the environment was serene; it must be a great place to go in the summer. Our guide, Xiao Yu, was very attentive and provided detailed explanations. On the way back, he even recommended some Nagoya restaurants.

Liu Mei, our tour guide, enthusiastically introduced us to local snacks and entertainment in Nagoya on the bus, arranging a day trip for us. I hope she can serve us again next time. This was a very different experience for me.

Although it rained throughout the trip, turning the beautiful scenery of Shanggaochi into muddy, yellow water, the presence of two bus drivers who took turns driving made me feel safe. We were an hour late due to traffic, but the driver kindly extended the departure time by an hour, allowing everyone more time to enjoy the scenery. I thought it was great; even though the weather wasn't great, it gave me a reason to go again! 👍
