Yanagawa

February 4, 2026: The trip was fantastic! Our driver and guide, Xiao Li, provided excellent service. He was very warm and attentive to his guests. He took us on a boat trip, where the boatmen gave enthusiastic performances. There were heated tables, which kept us warm in winter. He also recommended the eel rice, which was delicious and served in a beautiful setting. It was a great trip for families and a relaxing and enjoyable day. Thank you, Xiao Li!

The whole trip was great value for money. There were signs for us as soon as we exited Yanagawa Station, and the boating experience was also very good. The package included the journey to Dazaifu, which was a great deal!

Yanagawa is quite far from the city center. Although you can drive or take the train, this bus is really great! It's like having a small tour bus for a dozen or so people; there's no need for socializing, just pay attention to the boarding time. We visited four attractions. We didn't spend much time at the first two, but since the areas aren't large, it was manageable. The two main attractions, Yanagawa and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, were a bit rushed, but suitable for first-time visitors. After seeing them, you can decide whether you want to come back a second time; you can then take the train yourself. In short: suitable for solo travelers, those traveling alone, or those who want a simple trip.

The boatman provided a humorous explanation, spoke a little Chinese, sang beautifully, and even performed a bridge-jumping act, which drew continuous applause. It was a fun experience. Purchasing tickets through the KKday platform not only offered a discount but was also significantly cheaper than buying on-site. For the final activity, our boat offered a children's experience of pretending to be boatmen and rowing (an extra fee required), providing a perfect ending to the trip.
