1. Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line Abt-style Trolley Train

The Southern Alps Apt Line is Japan's only Abt-style train, traveling slowly through the valleys of Oku-Oi in the upper reaches of the Oi River. Officially known as the Oigawa Railway Ikawa Line, it was originally built for dam construction in the Oi River water system and now operates as a sightseeing train in Oku-Oi. There are many highlights, such as the steepest gradient in Japan at 90 per mille, the tallest railway bridge in Japan, and Oku-Oi Kojo Station, which appears to float on Lake Sessō.

Enjoy a journey through the nature-rich Oku-Oi area on a red trolley train.

2. Oku-Oi Kojo Station Observation Deck

Located on a peninsula-like area protruding into the dam lake created by the construction of the Nagashima Dam,

you will view Oku-Oi Kojo Station, which looks as if it is floating on the lake, and the Oku-Oi Rainbow Bridge from the observation deck on the opposite shore.

Typical peak autumn foliage season: Mid-November to late November Source: Oigawa Railway

[Note] On this tour, we will guide you on foot from Oku-Oi Kojo Station, across the Oku-Oi Rainbow Bridge, to the Oku-Oi Kojo Station observation deck.
