- Theme of the Season: Recording Travel Memories with Peng-Bing at U.I.J
- Theme Introduction:
Because Peng-Bing (Puffed Cake) is wrapped with a rich brown sugar filling, it is also known as 'Fragrant Cake'. Its hollow interior hides even more of the cultural heritage of the Tainan people.
Originally used as offerings for deities, it later evolved into gifts for celebrations and a nourishing delicacy for women during postpartum recovery. Wrapping blessings into the cake, 'Wishing you eat well' is the unique way Tainan people express their affection.
【The Sweet Taste of Tainan Childhood】
As children, we couldn't wait for the round cake to cool down before tearing it in two, putting the brown sugar filling from the bottom into our mouths.
