Because I was worried about missing the bus, I chose to charter a car. Although the price wasn't very cheap, it saved me time and the risk of getting lost, so I still felt it was worth it!
This was a relaxing ferry ride. The facilities were great and the boarding process was smooth and systematic. There are women only rooms, so it was comfortable to rest or sleep while on sail. They left on time and arrived earlier than expected. The staff were really kind. All in all, it was a beautiful ferry ride.
Unlike roaming, it doesn't lag when used; the experience is quite good. It's worth buying if it's cheap. The card seems to have a phone number on it, but I haven't tested it by calling yet. It would be even better if I could leave my phone number to make restaurant reservations.
Although I had some difficulty communicating with the driver/guide, the other members of our group were very kind and translated for everyone. The driver was also very nice and his driving skills were very smooth, so I felt safe and slept soundly on the bus. Because the Hakkoda Ropeway was closed due to strong winds, we visited other attractions instead. It was a very enjoyable day.
