Although it was only a half-day tour, it satisfied our desire to visit two attractions at once. The time allotted was just right, not too rushed. The pick-up and drop-off points also met our needs. The Japanese tour guide was friendly and polite. It was a very satisfying trip.
I'm Korean and came to Okinawa with my husband and parents. We signed up for this Southern Okinawa tour, which only offered one Korean-language tour and was sold out. I don't understand a word of Chinese or Japanese, only a little English, but the guide used a phone app to translate the necessary information, such as "This tour is in Chinese" and "Be careful with your valuables." Departure times at each attraction were clearly indicated on large signs, making it easy to follow. She even double-checked the information. The Chinese explanations were explained through the app, so I could understand most of what was being said! We were able to contact the guide through the Line app. Dropping off at each attraction was great because we had free time, and the bus was incredibly quiet! I was a bit anxious before the tour, but it was a great tour for us since we hadn't rented a car. We especially loved being able to visit the Itoman Market and the outlet mall. I highly recommend the glass-bottom boat! We were traveling in January, so I thought snorkeling would be difficult, but the glass-bottom boat showed us plenty of fish and even saw sea turtles. It was a truly enjoyable tour.
Before departure, a LINE group was created to keep contact information, and the meeting time and location were clearly stated. On the day of departure, finding the meeting point was easy, so there was no confusion. Tour guide Zhihong provided detailed explanations and even helped with taking photos, making this trip not only about sightseeing but also about learning about history and culture. The beauty of Yuquan Cave is definitely worth seeing. Although it was a group tour for individual travelers, everyone was punctual. While the itinerary was a bit tight, it covered many places, perfectly solving the transportation problem. This trip left us with many wonderful memories.
The attractions in southern Okinawa are all very close together, so the travel time isn't too long. The tour guide and vehicle arrived on time, and the guide was very responsible, ensuring everyone had ample time to explore each stop. Along the way, the guide (Ms. Xing) shared local knowledge and information about Okinawa's sights, which was quite interesting. With a humanities background, she shared Okinawan anecdotes and unique characteristics very well. The drum performance at Gyokusendo Cave and the park was excellent and worth seeing! You can feel the energy of the performers and the enthusiasm of Okinawa. The fish market... isn't very big; you can probably walk through it in five to ten minutes. Don't compare it to Tsukiji or Kuromon Markets. This explains why the wait is only one hour; it's really just a quick meal. The crab legs looked amazing in photos, but in reality, they were... well, not that great.
Seeing it in person was much better than on the travel show. Remember to add another 10 minutes to the 30-minute video so you can take lots of photos! The Okinawa World at the back entrance was also more beautiful and easier to explore than I expected; you can even have bubble tea there. The gift shop had a surprisingly wide selection, so I went on a shopping spree. Finally, there was a snake exhibit that you could quickly circle around and see everything. 👍🏿👍🏾
Because I was able to purchase tickets in advance, I was able to enter without having to wait in the crowded ticket purchasing line. (You can exchange your ticket at the counter near the group entrance.) I used a coupon, so I was able to enter even cheaper, which was a great deal.
