Guishan Island

The weather was great that day, not too hot! Unfortunately, we encountered a tour group, and there was only one public restroom, resulting in a long queue. However, we could walk to another restroom on the opposite shore, which was spacious and didn't require a long wait. Once on board, the guide was very enthusiastic, introducing different views of Turtle Island along the way, helping us better appreciate its beauty. Luckily, the captain allowed us to go up on deck to look for whales and dolphins, and we actually saw four adorable false killer whales – a delightful surprise and a touching moment! The guide also mentioned that the ship's propeller noise might disturb marine animals, so we only stayed for about 15 minutes before returning. Overall, the experience was very friendly and respectful of nature. The ship also thoughtfully provided cups of water, plastic bags, and trash cans for passengers, a thoughtful touch. However, the sea can be quite rough, so it's recommended to take seasickness medication beforehand for a more comfortable journey!

The passenger driver and the guy on the boat who explained the ecology were both very nice. It was my first time seeing spinner dolphins and false killer whales, a very special experience. Standing at the bow of the boat was very comfortable. The pirate ship experience was also great; the fact that they provided vomit bags was very thoughtful.

The first gathering of the 2026 Purple Girls was meticulously arranged by Nana Yeh. A private car took us from Taipei to Gongliao to see the Sandiao Cape Lighthouse, then to Mao'ao Fishing Port for a delicious and fresh seafood feast with lobster, abalone, and shrimp – we ate our fill! Next, we went to Fulong to see a handmade wood carving exhibition, smelling the wonderful aroma of wood. We enjoyed a delicious coffee at Starbucks with our own fruit, popcorn, and biscuits. Then we wanted to walk to the Caoling Tunnel, but after 20 minutes, we still had a kilometer to go. Halfway there, we turned back and saw beautiful flowers by the roadside, ending our day's itinerary – we walked over 10,000 steps!
