Because this trip only included three days in Kurashiki and Okayama, it was very short and rushed. I thought adding a rickshaw to the itinerary was fantastic, giving it a more in-depth travel feel. Although it was only half an hour, the rickshaw driver, Mr. Kamata, was incredibly attentive in his explanations along the way, using his phone to translate into Chinese to introduce us to local features and history. His photography skills were also very professional (he even helped me adjust the colors and take panoramic photos – so impressive!). I highly recommend it; I think it created some wonderful and happy memories. I think it's truly an impressive job, combining physical labor with providing explanations; he's really amazing.
This time, my family and I experienced the place together and got the following discounts: 1. Kurashiki Bishoukan coupon (for Momotaro Museum, collagen jelly, Kibi dango, and making hairpins/hair ties), 2. Okayama Castle admission ticket + soft serve ice cream, and 3. Okayama Ichiban-gai shopping mall (shopping coupon for 3 people, 4500 yen). It was absolutely worth it, and we left with a ton of goodies! I highly recommend everyone buy and use these!
This sunset viewing experience is definitely worthwhile. The location is easy to find, the Japanese company drivers are punctual, and there is plenty of time during the two stops. The sunset we saw was truly beautiful and worth the trip.
