Kotohira

Kotohira has a warm climate all year round, but spring (late March to mid-April) is the most recommended tourist season because the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and places such as Ritsurin Park and Megijima have become popular spots for cherry blossom viewing.

Kotohira-gu Shrine, Ritsurin Park and Takamatsu Castle ruins are must-visit attractions in Kotohira. Kotohira Palace is famous for its long stone steps, Ritsurin Park is one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan, and the ruins of Takamatsu Castle are built near the sea and have special historical value.
