I visited during Golden Week. It was a bit inconvenient that even though I had scanned a QR code online, I couldn't board the ropeway immediately and had to go to the ticket counter to get a physical ticket. However, the ropeway can accommodate a large number of people, so you don't have to wait longer than the 20-minute intervals it runs. I wanted to try bobsleigh first, but I was told there was a 90-minute wait, which made me hesitate. I enjoyed the scenery by taking a footbath and a lift, and when I got to the bobsleigh station, the wait was only 60 minutes! It was well worth the wait. The lift is free and you can ride it as many times as you like, so since I don't like going uphill, I took the downhill ride to the station, enjoyed the scenery until the very last moment, and then boarded the ropeway.
We took a shuttle bus over the Joetsu Mountains to reach the Kiyotsu Gorge. The driver was very steady on the winding road, which was very reassuring. The scenery of the Kiyotsu Gorge is simply breathtaking; this trip is definitely worthwhile!
