The scenery in the mountains and the Gassho-zukuri villages is beautiful, and the trip is relaxing and enjoyable! Our guide, Tao, is professional and enthusiastic! It's a great itinerary. Perfect for travelers who don't want to drive! You should definitely sign up!
He's not a guide or anything, he just drives. You don't have to drive to Matsume-juku for 2 hours, Tsumago-juku for 1 hour and a half, and Ryujin Falls for 1 hour. You can go comfortably without having to drive. He doesn't speak English, but he kindly provides information through a translator.
The scenery was beautiful, and taking a minibus reduced the hassle of traveling back and forth on your own. The only downside was that the minibus we took that day had some issues, and the ride was incredibly bumpy in the back row. I felt like a shaker, my stomach sloshing evenly. The itinerary included a one-hour stop at Inuyama Castle, one of the few castles to retain its original castle tower. A must-see for history enthusiasts, the tower offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. Magome-juku and Tsumago-juku are similar to post stations, located between Tokyo and Kyoto on the ancient Nakasendo (?). Due to a fire, the remaining Meiji-era architectural style remains.
The itinerary was well planned, and the tour guide was very friendly and professional. Highly recommended! The gardens of Huxishan Yongbaoji Temple are beautiful, and the Edo-style scenery of Magome and Tsumago are also worth experiencing. It's just the right itinerary for a day trip.
