Alishan Hotel currently does not provide breakfast, nor does it serve meals at other times. The supplier will provide VIPs with NT$ 100/person 7-11 merchandise coupons, which have no expiration date and store usage restrictions. Alishan Hotel has also increased the number of shuttle bus services during breakfast hours to provide VIPs with self-service breakfast transportation to and from the Tourist Service Center.
In response to environmental protection policies, all hotels no longer provide disposable room amenities (such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, shower caps, razors, cotton swabs, etc.). Please bring your own personal toiletries to reduce the impact on the environment.
Alishan offers unique beauty in every season. Spring (February to April) is the prime season for cherry blossom viewing, with the park bursting into spectacular bloom. You can easily explore Alishan National Forest Recreation Area without a car. Take the park's 'Shuttle Bus' to travel between major attractions, such as from Zhaoping Station to the Giant Trees Area. Additionally, Alishan has a well-developed system of forest trails, where visitors can choose to walk and discover attractions like Sister Ponds, Shouzhen Temple, and the Third Generation Tree, strolling along the boardwalks amidst towering trees to soak in the forest's invigorating essence. Don't forget to experience the Alishan Forest Railway; riding the narrow-gauge train through the woods is a unique adventure.
For a two-day, one-night itinerary in Alishan, it's recommended to visit Fenqihu on the first day, experiencing its nostalgic charm and sampling local delicacies while strolling through the old street. Check into a lodging within Alishan National Forest Recreation Area in the evening and enjoy a peaceful night. On the second day, take the Zhushan Line train early in the morning to the sunrise viewing platform to witness Alishan's magnificent sunrise and sea of clouds. During the day, explore the Giant Trees Area, Sister Ponds, and Shouzhen Temple within the park, or walk along the Shuishan Giant Tree Trail to marvel at nature's artistry.

These channels will provide park opening hours, visitor capacity limits, trail maintenance announcements, and possible traffic control measures on mountain roads (like Provincial Highway 18), especially during flower seasons or long holidays, to ensure a smooth journey.
The primary public transportation method to reach Alishan National Forest Recreation Area from outside areas is by bus. You can transfer from Chiayi Railway Station or Chiayi HSR Station to the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Alishan Route (Routes 7322, 7329) which goes directly to Alishan National Forest Recreation Area. There are also some bus companies offering direct services from Taichung, Kaohsiung, and other places to Alishan. It's advisable to check the timetable in advance and book your tickets to ensure a smooth trip.
To travel from Chiayi HSR Station to Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, it is recommended to take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Alishan Line A (Highway 18), with route number 7329. This route departs from Chiayi HSR Station, passes through Fenqihu, and terminates at Alishan National Forest Recreation Area. Buses run approximately every hour, with a journey time of about 2.5 to 3 hours. It is advisable to check the latest timetable and fare information on the official Taiwan Tourist Shuttle website in advance, and consider booking your ticket early to secure a seat.
The most classic way to view the sunrise at Alishan National Forest Recreation Area is by taking the Zhushan Line sunrise train. The departure times of the train are adjusted according to the seasonal sunrise times and are usually announced the evening before at Alishan Station or the Tourist Center. It is recommended to arrive at the station at least one hour before departure to purchase tickets and queue up early to ensure a good viewing spot. Upon arrival at the Zhushan Sunrise Viewing Platform, you will have ample time to wait for the sunrise and experience one of Alishan's five wonders.
During a self-driving trip to Alishan, Fenqihu is a must-stop transit point. You can stroll through Fenqihu Old Street, soak in the nostalgic atmosphere, and savor the famous Fenqihu bento lunch, a delicacy many visitors make sure to try. Additionally, Fenqihu Railway Station is an important station on the Alishan Forest Railway, offering views of unique locomotives and railway scenery.
