The Tango AKA-MATSU train offers an immersive experience of Amanohashidate's landscape from observation decks like Shoryukan and Hiryukan, complemented by a Kamameshi Chōshū Gozen lunch. The Tango KURO-MATSU train provides a unique dining journey through Fukuchiyama's rural charm, featuring stunning mountain and sea views, Kyoto Tango local desserts, all within a "Spirited Away" themed setting. Both trains offer breathtaking coastal scenery.
The Kyoto by the Sea region captivates visitors with landscapes that inspired the film "Spirited Away." Highlights include exploring the panoramic views from Amanohashidate View Land and Kasamatsu Park, enjoying a serene sightseeing cruise across Amanohashidate Bay, and visiting cultural sites such as Motoise Kono Shrine and Chionji Temple. The region is known for its stunning coastal beauty and unique cultural heritage.
At Amanohashidate View Land, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Amanohashidate, often called the "Bridge to Heaven," and experience the unique "matanozoki" pose for an upside-down perspective. Kasamatsu Park offers a different vantage point with equally stunning scenery. For those on the AKA-MATSU package, the Shoryukan (Rising Dragon Observatory) and Hiryukan (Flying Dragon Observatory) provide elevated views, showcasing Amanohashidate's unique land, sea, and air beauty.
The Amanohashidate sightseeing cruise offers a unique perspective of the famous "Bridge to Heaven" sandbar from the water. Passengers can enjoy picturesque views of the verdant pine trees lining the sandbar, the tranquil blue waters of Miyazu Bay, and the surrounding coastal landscapes. It provides a relaxing way to appreciate the natural beauty and scale of Amanohashidate from a different angle.
The Tango KURO-MATSU train journey connects to the "Spirited Away" theme through its specially designed interior setting and overall atmosphere. Passengers can savor Kyoto Tango local desserts within this uniquely themed environment, evoking the magical and traditional Japanese aesthetic found in the film. The captivating landscapes of Kyoto by the Sea themselves are said to have inspired elements of the movie.
Fukuchiyama Castle, an iconic destination on this tour, offers visitors a glimpse into Japan's samurai history. While the tour includes a visit, the castle itself is a reconstructed landmark. Visitors can typically explore its architecture, learn about its historical significance, and often enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding city from its elevated position, though specific exhibits will vary.
For specific packages, such as those designated as an "Arashiyama AKA-MATSU Train" package, travelers have the flexibility to choose their boarding and alighting points in either Osaka or Kyoto. This option is designed to facilitate ease of access for visiting Amanohashidate and other destinations within the tour, integrating the Arashiyama name with travel convenience rather than a direct stop in Arashiyama itself.
The Tango AKA-MATSU and KURO-MATSU train tours depart from either Osaka or Kyoto, offering convenient starting points for travelers. Transportation to Amanohashidate and between various sightseeing spots is arranged via a comfortable bus ride. This ensures a seamless journey, allowing participants to relax and enjoy the scenic transfers without the hassle of planning individual routes.
