This trip utilized a 7-day Kansai and Hokuriku pass to explore the cities and attractions of the Hokuriku region, with day trips to Kyoto or two-day, one-night stays. Saving considerable transportation costs, it was incredibly cost-effective for foreign tourists visiting Japan. The itinerary included enjoying the Hokuriku scenery, the ancient capital and culture of Kanazawa, the Tateyama-Kurobe Alps and the Kurobe Gorge railway, and savoring delicious seafood. The Kyoto round trip was via the Okayama-Himeji-Kurashiki-Sanyo Shinkansen, while the Hokuriku round trip included Tsuruga, Kaga Onsen, Kanazawa, (Noto Peninsula: Wakura Onsen, Nanao City to Noto-Karakuri train), Tomizan, Unazuki Onsen-Hokuriku Shinkansen, and the Tomizan Local Railway to the Unazuki Onsen area. The Shinkansen included the Tsuruga, Hakutaka, and Koki Shinkansen, with reserved and unreserved seats, allowing for multiple stops and starts between cities, making for a fulfilling itinerary. The estimated savings for two people in transportation costs were tens of thousands of yen.
The pre-flight pick-up and drop-off service was convenient; they contacted us in advance via Line to confirm our arrival date and time. Upon landing, we were quickly informed of the meeting point and given clear directions, ensuring a smooth and quick ride even though we arrived late at night. The driver was also very skilled and the car was spotless. It was a very good experience.
The driver was really great! 👍 Highly recommended! We left our things in the car, and the driver thoughtfully found them for us and even brought them back to our accommodation! Thank you so much! ☺️ A fantastic experience! 👍 Highly recommended!
I bought an e-ticket, which I had to exchange for a physical pass at Matsue Station using a machine. You can exchange the pass for a reserved seat at the machine. My train journey from Matsue Station to the Adachi Museum of Art and back, then to Kurakichi to see the white-walled doji statues, to the Gosho Aoyama Museum in Yura, to Yonago for the night, and then to Tottori to eat snow crab at the Tottori Sand Dunes and Karo Market. My fare, including the premium reserved seat, was a whopping 10,470 yen. I bought the Tottori-Matsue Amazing Pass for only 4,000 yen, saving a lot of money. It also includes the Matsue sightseeing bus and the Kirin bus from Tottori Holidays. I highly recommend this pass. It also comes with a Tottori Amazing Pass, which I used to: 1. Purchase 3,000 yen or more of Tottori Sand Dunes souvenirs, which could be redeemed for 1,000 yen. 2. A one-day pass for the Wakao Railway (exchange for the pass at Wakao Station). 3. Three small tastings at the Ota Sake Brewery (I wanted to go to the Kashiwashi Japan Seta, but it was closed). There weren't many tourists in Wakasakura during the winter; I only saw four groups of visitors, a little over ten people in total. (The Sand Dune Art Museum was closed due to installation work.)
