Rokkosan Snow Park offers a variety of snow activities suitable for visitors of all levels. Beginners can experience gentle slopes with guidance from professional instructors. For families, the park has a dedicated snow play area for children, equipped with sleds, snow tubes, and other play facilities for safe and fun snow play. Additionally, fun activities like snow donuts are available to enhance interactive enjoyment.
The most convenient way to reach Rokkosan Snow Park from downtown Osaka is by public transportation. You can take the JR Kobe Line from Osaka Umeda Station to Rokkomichi Station, or take the Hankyu Railway to Rokko Station, and then transfer to the Rokko Mountain Bus to get to the snow park. For ease of travel planning and considering winter road conditions, joining a bus tour that includes transportation would be a more relaxed option, avoiding the hassle of transfers.
Rokkosan Snow Park primarily relies on artificial snowmaking to ensure stable and quality snow trails, maintaining operations even during winters with less natural snowfall. The park replenishes snow regularly based on weather conditions. For visitor convenience, the park offers a full range of ski equipment rentals, including skis, boots, poles, and ski attire, in all sizes. Visitors do not need to bring their own; rentals are available upon arrival.
For a winter visit to Rokkosan Snow Park, it is recommended to wear warm and waterproof clothing. For the base layer, choose moisture-wicking materials; the middle layer should be insulating (like a fleece jacket); and the outer layer requires a waterproof and windproof ski jacket and pants. Accessories like gloves, a hat, thick socks, and sunglasses (to prevent glare from the snow) are essential. If it's inconvenient to bring your own, various equipment rental services are also available at the park.
Yes, Rokkosan Snow Park has a specially designed snow play area for children called the 'Snow Playground.' This area is separate from the ski slopes to ensure the safety of children while they play. It is equipped with snow tubes, sleds, and other lightweight snow gear, along with ample space for children to build snowmen and have snowball fights. The park also features restaurants and rest areas for family convenience.
In addition to enjoying the famous 'Kin-yu' (golden hot spring) and 'Gin-yu' (silver hot spring) at Arima Onsen, there are many other worthwhile experiences. You can stroll through the onsen town and savor local specialties like carbonated rice crackers and Arima soda. Visit the 'Yumoto-zaka' shopping street to purchase souvenirs related to hot springs. Furthermore, there are cultural attractions like the 'Arima Toys and Automata Museum' and 'Onsenji Temple,' as well as 'Atagoyama Park' offering scenic views of the onsen town.
For experiencing Arima Onsen's 'Kin-yu' or 'Gin-yu,' it is recommended to spend about 15 to 20 minutes per soak, which can be adjusted based on individual constitution and comfort levels to avoid prolonged immersion. If you wish to fully enjoy the hot spring facilities, including changing, showering, and resting afterward, approximately 1 to 1.5 hours is generally recommended. If you opt for a private bath, you can arrange your time according to your reservation.
For visiting Kobe's Kitano Ijinkan Street, it is recommended to allocate 2 to 3 hours for a leisurely stroll along the charming, exotic slopes. You can start with the 'Kazamidori no Yakata' (Windmill House) and 'Moegi no Yakata' (Lime Green House), which are the most iconic Ijinkan. Along the way, there are many unique cafes and shops where you can take a break. If you have ample time, consider purchasing a combination ticket to visit multiple Ijinkan and gain a deeper understanding of their history and architectural styles.
