◆ Swordsman Takayuki Kanayama Profile ◆
Born in 1975 in Moji Ward, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
Since high school, he aimed to become a professional boxer as a junior to Katsuya Onizuka, but after meeting film director Hideo Nakata, he pursued a career as an actor. After success on stage and other media, he took his first steps into the world of swordsmanship in 2009.
Since 2010, he has studied under martial arts researcher Yoshinori Kono. He has mastered 'Battojutsu' (sword drawing), 'Kenjutsu' (swordsmanship), 'Jojutsu' (staff techniques), and 'Taijutsu' (body arts), and was appointed as a 'Shoseikan Technique Researcher.' Currently, he presides over the Kanayama Kenjutsu Training Group and the Gold Castle Stage Combat & Kenjutsu School. He promotes the essence of martial arts based on the unity of mind and body.
