Within 7 days after redemption, enjoy unlimited rides in Sanyo (Okayama, Hiroshima, Yamaguchi) and San'in (Tottori, Shimane) regions, on top of the Kansai region access. 

Get unlimited rides on the Sanyo Shinkansen (including NOZOMI and MIZUHO, between Shin-Osaka and Hakata), reserved or non-reserved seats in ordinary cars of Limited Express and local trains (including Rapid and Special Rapid services) in the area (including Chizu Express), JR-West Miyajima Ferry, and WEST JAPAN JR BUS, Chugoku JR Bus in the area.


— Exchange Method—

  1. Ticket vending machine: Collect tickets through green ticket vending machines with a "PASSPORT" icob at each station

    • If the ticket machine is out of service or you do not have an e-passport, please redeem the pass at a green ticket booth at designated stations
  2. JR West Ticket Office: Present your e-voucher and passport to the JR Ticket Office (Midori-no-madoguchi, or "Green Window") to exchange for a physical ticket
    • Name/passport verification not required at the ticket vending machine; however, if you exchange at a ticket office, the staff will check the name on the voucher and the passport
    • Ticket vending machines are only available for travelers with an e-passport. If you do not have an e-passport or the passport does not work at the ticket machine, please visit the ticket office for a manual exchange 
  3. Collect reserved seat ticket: Please use a physical train ticket to redeem the reserved seat ticket at a green ticket booth or green ticket machine
    How to redeem
    • If you've run out of reserved seat quota or haven't redeemed the reserved seat ticket, you can still use the pass to ride unreserved seats
    • Passes that include unlimited reserved seats: if using the 7th or more times, please go to the green ticket booth to reserve manually and do not redeem at the machine

  • Each adult or JR Sanyo-San’in Area Pass holder may bring 2 children aged 1–5 for free, the third child (or more) will require a child pass
  • Free admission for children aged under 1
  • In the following cases, each infant is required to purchase a Child Rail Pass:
    1. When the infant uses a reserved seat in a standard car (ordinary car reserved seat) alone.
    2. When the infant travels alone.
  • JR tickets are personalized, and the booking process is relatively complex. Please make sure to provide all required information when placing your order. Any delays in ticket issuance or the need to modify information due to incomplete details will be the traveler’s responsibility, and handling fees will apply. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Children who require a reserved seat in an ordinary car and children travelling alone are required to purchase a child pass

  • Luggage Restrictions: Passengers may bring up to 2 pieces of luggage, each piece may not weigh more than 30kg and its length, width and depth may not add up to more than 250cm, while its length may not exceed 200cm (umbrellas, canes, carry-ons, backpacks are not considered as luggage)

  • One passport can only redeem 1 type of pass/ticket of the same time period

Additionally, it is generally not valid for 'Nozomi' and 'Mizuho' Shinkansen services on the Sanyo Shinkansen line; travelers should use 'Hikari' or 'Sakura' services instead for covered travel.
