In the event of inclement weather such as typhoons or snowstorms, a decision on whether to cancel the tour will be made 1 day(s) before departure (local time 18:00). Notifications will then be sent via email
Please arrive at the designated location 15 minute(s) before the scheduled departure time, as the tour will depart on time
Vehicle type depends on the number of participants. For small groups, the driver also serves as the onboard attendant throughout the tour, and no separate tour leader is assigned.
A smaller vehicle may be used on the day, so please avoid bringing large luggage. If you must bring luggage, please let us know in advance for confirmation.
Children under 3 are not included in paid items such as meals, the sightseeing boat, and the cable car; each adult may bring one child under 3 onto the cable car free of charge. Children aged 3-5 receive a kids' meal; children 6 and above receive the same meal as adults. (To switch to a kids' meal, please tell us at least 2 days before departure; changes cannot be made on the day.)
Traffic conditions may delay the return time due to weather, holidays and festivals, and other force majeure factors. Please carefully assess your plans before and after the tour when booking. The bus may arrive significantly late due to accidents, traffic congestion, or weather. We cannot compensate for losses such as connecting transportation you arranged yourself if the bus is delayed.
The planned route may be adjusted due to same-day traffic conditions, local events, restaurant reservations, or changes to attractions' operating hours.
This tour involves long stretches of travel. Travelers whose condition may fluctuate (such as pregnant travelers) should assess their health before joining. Risks arising from sudden illness during the tour, including not receiving prompt medical care, are borne by the traveler.
If the tour cannot operate due to weather or insufficient participants, the tour fee will be refunded in full; expenses you incur yourself, such as transportation and accommodation, will not be compensated. No refund or compensation is available for personal no-shows, leaving the group midway, or voluntarily skipping parts of the itinerary.
If a bus breakdown or traffic jam delays the tour and the itinerary or activities must be changed or canceled, travelers may not object or withdraw on those grounds. No compensation or refund of the tour fee may be claimed for delays or changes caused by bad weather, strikes, or unexpected incidents.
If the tour is canceled or cut short due to special circumstances not attributable to the travel agency, such as severe weather, natural disasters, mechanical failure, traffic accidents, war or coups, strikes or riots, or government orders, the full tour fee will be refunded before departure; after departure, costs already incurred will be deducted and the remainder refunded. In such cases participants may not object or claim compensation; any losses or additional expenses arising from the event are the traveler's own responsibility.
Leaving the tour midway is considered a voluntary forfeit of the remaining itinerary; no additional refund will be given.
If the Ine Bay sightseeing boat is suspended due to bad weather or other reasons, the group boat fare will be refunded and replaced with free time to stroll the area.
The Amanohashidate cable car and chairlift may suspend operation without notice due to weather or maintenance; you will ride whichever is available that day. If both are suspended, the group cable car fare will be refunded and replaced with free time to stroll the area.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Gloves are recommended when feeding the hawks and seagulls. If hawks appear while you are feeding seagulls from the boat, pause feeding and put the feed away. Keep feed well away from your face to avoid being pecked.
Each traveler has one bus seat; seats cannot be assigned in advance. Depending on the day's bookings, you may share bus seating and restaurant tables with other travelers in the group.
For your own safety and the rights of other group members, please inform us at booking of any chronic illness, limited mobility, or similar conditions.
The planned route may change due to same-day traffic, weather, or other force majeure factors; time at each stop may be adjusted and some stops canceled. The return arrival time may also be significantly delayed.
Minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Travelers aged 80 and above must be accompanied by a family member or friend. We apologize for any inconvenience.
[Packages without Meals] There are few restaurants and shops around Amanohashidate. We recommend preparing light food before departure to avoid spending too much time looking for a restaurant.
Travelers on packages without meals who want to add lunch on-site will pay the price posted by the restaurant that day.
If you need vegetarian meals, you must note this in the Remarks field when booking; otherwise vegetarian meals cannot be arranged on-site.
Meal contents may be adjusted depending on the restaurant's ingredients that day. If the planned restaurant is unexpectedly closed or fully booked, the dining venue will be changed and a meal of equal value provided. We reserve the right to adjust meals flexibly, and the order of sightseeing stops may change accordingly to keep the itinerary running smoothly.
[Chinese-Language Guiding] This tour is guided mainly in Mandarin Chinese. The guide can handle Chinese and Japanese but cannot deliver full commentary in Japanese. For languages other than Chinese, the guide can only offer simple assistance using translation apps.
Joining the tour partway through is not possible.
All itinerary times are estimates; actual times may be adjusted according to conditions on the day.
A stay of approximately 2 to 3 hours at the Ine Boathouses is recommended to leisurely stroll among the boat houses and feel their unique fishing village atmosphere. This duration is sufficient to take a boat tour of Ine Bay, admire the boathouses from the sea, explore the quiet alleys, savor the local pace of life, take beautiful photos, and deeply experience the charm of 'Kyoto by the Sea'.
The most distinctive feature of the Ine Boathouses is their unique architecture. The first floor of the houses serves as a boat mooring area, while the second floor is a living space, forming Japan's only existing waterside settlement landscape. Visitors can not only get a close-up view of the fishermen's lives but also take a boat tour from the sea to admire the boathouses. This experience allows you to witness the traditional fishing village scenery where humans coexist with nature and appreciate the unique charm of this architectural cluster, designated as an Important Traditional Buildings Preservation District in Japan.
Boarding points for the Ine Bay Sightseeing Cruise are typically located at specific piers along the Ine Bay coast, such as the 'Ine Bay Cruise' boarding area near the Ine Boathouses. From these piers, the cruise circumnavigates Ine Bay, allowing passengers to admire the unique architectural style of the boathouses from a sea perspective. You may also have the chance to interact with seagulls following the boat, adding to the journey's enjoyment.
Amanohashidate is famous for its unique 'upside-down view.' When visitors bend over and look backward between their legs, the sandbar appears inverted against the sky and sea, creating a peculiar spectacle that resembles a 'bridge in the sky.' The best viewing spots are the 'Kasumatsu Observation Deck' in Kasumatsu Park and 'Hiryu-kan' on the south side. Both locations offer expansive views, allowing for the quintessential upside-down viewing experience.
It is recommended to allocate half a day to a full day for Amanohashidate to fully experience its rich natural and cultural landscapes. You can take a cable car or chair lift to Kasumatsu Park to overlook the panoramic view, stroll or cycle along the sandbar, enjoy a pine forest bath, and visit nearby attractions like Chion-ji Temple. If time permits, you can also go to Hiryu-kan to admire this scenic spot, one of Japan's Three Great Views, from different angles.
Miyama Kayabuki no Sato is located in a mountainous area and usually experiences snowfall in winter (approximately December to March), creating a picturesque snow-white world. The 'Snow Lantern Festival' held annually is particularly enchanting. Besides winter, spring with its new greenery, summer's lush foliage, and autumn's vibrant red leaves each offer their own charm. It is suitable for visits year-round to experience the thatched-roof houses in different seasonal settings.
Since attractions like Ine, Amanohashidate, and Miyama Kayabuki no Sato are spread out in the Kyoto suburbs, using public transportation might be time-consuming and require multiple transfers. It is recommended to opt for day tour packages that offer dedicated transportation, such as bus tours departing from Namba, Osaka. You can travel comfortably and easily in a dedicated vehicle, saving the hassle of transfers and route planning, allowing you to visit these popular spots more efficiently.
Ine Boathouses offer different charms throughout the year. Spring and autumn have pleasant weather, ideal for leisurely walks and boat tours, appreciating the blend of blue skies, the sea, and traditional architecture. In summer, you can feel the lively atmosphere of the fishing village, while in winter, you might get to see snowy boathouses, which have a unique charm. Regardless of when you visit, you can experience the unique local fishing culture and the tranquility of the bay.
