Juifen

During Golden Week, my family and I traveled to Jiufen in Taiwan and made a reservation for a tea set. Even though it was raining on and off, Jiufen was very popular and crowded, but because we had a reservation, when we showed our voucher we were immediately shown to a window seat on the third floor. The staff brewed the first cup of tea for us. It smelled wonderful and tasted delicious. After that, we enjoyed as much tea as we wanted with hot water from the kettle, and we were even allowed to take the leftover tea leaves home ♡ Although they didn't speak much Japanese, they understood us through our gestures and broken speech. For snacks, they served us something like peanuts and plums in syrup, and a crumbly sweet candy made from green beans, which was very tasty. From the window, we had a panoramic view of the sea, and the ever-changing scenery, with fog and sunshine, left a lasting impression on us. It was hot walking through the crowds, but the inside of the shop was kept cool, which was a great relief as we were able to relax. Also, when we went to the terrace, we had a fantastic view of the tea shop across the street and the town, which was a truly luxurious experience. We visited around 3 PM, and it was great to be able to see the view so well.
