Kawachi Wisteria Garden is a must-see! The wisteria is spectacular, with various colors and varieties. Tickets are hard to get and transportation isn't very convenient, so a day trip is perfect! We happened to be there during the blue nemophila season on Uminaka no Nakamichi Road, but the park is huge. Our final stop was Miyajidake Shrine, a famous attraction. The only downside was the limited time available. To see all the sights in one day, you have to make some choices. I recommend this day trip if you're visiting Fukuoka in mid-April or later.
A fantastic itinerary: Karato Market, Moji Port Nostalgia Area, Kokura Castle, and Miyajidake Shrine. We boarded the bus early in the morning with a friendly and enthusiastic welcome from our tour guide, Seki-san. The bus was clean and tidy, and the driver drove smoothly and safely. After visiting Miyajidake Shrine and Kokura Castle, we went to the highlight of the trip – Fujiuchi Garden – to admire the wisteria and hydrangeas in full bloom. After a visual feast, we headed to Karato Market for fresh and delicious sashimi and nigiri sushi. Finally, we watched the Moji Port Suspension Bridge open. This day trip was truly fortunate; I experienced the best of times. Seki-san from gogoday provided a particularly detailed and seamless explanation in Japanese, Chinese, and English, making my first experience with this kind of day trip wonderful.
This package is only NT$1000, plus NT$1000 for Fukuoka city center, NT$2200 for the Yanagawa River cruise, and then you can exchange the tickets for four attractions at Moji Port for about NT$1000, basically breaking even. While at Fukuoka Tower, you can take the W1 bus to Fukuoka Dome and exchange the tickets for a dinner for NT$1200, which is practically a steal.
The package tour also included taking photos in a haori kimono, which was so much fun! We had a wonderful afternoon tea in the Edo-era garden. It also included admission to the castle tower, so after dessert, we could continue exploring Kokura Castle.
