We went skiing as a family. It snowed the night before, so the snow piled up and made for great skiing conditions. There weren't many other people, which the kids seemed to enjoy.
This visit to the Zao Fox Village in Miyagi Prefecture was a truly therapeutic experience. The park operates on a free-range system, allowing for close observation of the foxes' habits, making it perfect for ecology and photography enthusiasts. 1. Historical Origins: Founded in the 1990s, the Zao Fox Village was initially established for fox conservation and research, later evolving into a facility combining education and tourism. 2. Behavioral Observation: Foxes are among the few canids with feline characteristics (such as their pupils and climbing abilities), making it fascinating to observe their social behaviors (such as howling when fighting for territory). 3. Seasonal Requirement: The foxes shed their thick winter fur in winter, reaching their most fluffy and adorable peak appearance, making this the most recommended time to visit.
I bought three tour packages for my Sendai day trip and I was really impressed with HIS Travel, especially the tour guides who provided very informative explanations. The meals and services were also excellent. Although the route from Fox Village to Ginzan Onsen isn't exactly on the same line, and much of the itinerary involves traveling by bus and changing buses, the tour group handled everything meticulously, ensuring that everyone was comfortable and at ease. It was a fantastic experience.
Thank you KKDay for providing this opportunity; I was extremely satisfied! I hope it continues! I'd love to take a lesson every year, haha! Thank you to instructor Taira and another excellent teacher for their guidance and assistance. Thank you for your excellent attention to student safety and emotional support, which made my husband and I have a wonderful and enjoyable experience. Language wasn't a problem, haha! After class, you're free to explore, but please remember to return your ski suits and helmets by the designated time! So we spent the afternoon exploring the snow on our own! It was very comfortable and relaxing; we could even go inside to rest before heading out again! Finally, we were completely satisfied and ready to take the bus home! Highly recommended! Go for it! (P.S. After getting off the bus, the ticket office and restaurant are on the right. There are changing rooms and general ski equipment rentals in the middle. Regular skiers and snow enthusiasts can get ready and then enter from there. However, if you've registered for a ski lesson and need to check in, after getting off the bus, go directly to the far left to find the ski school hut. Registration, equipment rentals, etc., are all done there. We had to ask the staff at the entrance/exit office for directions; everyone was very friendly!)
The other members of the tour group were very nice, and our tour guide, Xiao Zhang, explained everything clearly along the way. The fox village was more interesting than I expected. After we finished visiting, we were able to get some warmth on the tour bus when we returned early. It was a very friendly group, and I would definitely join a day tour again next time.
You can play on swings, inflatable play equipment, strikeouts, sleds, snow tubes, and more. I went with my preschooler. They seemed to have a lot of fun playing in the snow, using molds to make snowballs and using the snow mountains as slides. Use of the sleds and snow tubes is included in the admission fee, but same-day tickets cost 2,000 yen per person for both adults and children, which I felt was a bit expensive. I recommend purchasing tickets in advance, as you can save 500 yen per person.
