The 'NAKED Matsushima - National Treasure Zuigan-ji Temple Autumn Night Visit' is a special night event held for a limited time in autumn at the National Treasure Zuigan-ji Temple in Matsushima Town, Miyagi Prefecture. Zuigan-ji is an ancient temple founded by Jikaku Daishi Ennin in 828, and is known as the family temple of the Date clan, restored by Date Masamune, the founder of the Sendai Domain, over five years starting in 1609. The Main Hall, Kuri, and corridors, which convey Momoyama art to the present day, are designated as National Treasures and have been restored to their original appearance following major Heisei-era repairs. After sunset, the quiet temple grounds are transformed into a mystical space of prayer through the light and sound performances of the creative company NAKED.

From 17:00 to 21:00, different from regular visiting hours, you can slowly explore the temple grounds woven with light and sound. The light art enveloping the National Treasure Main Hall and Kuri reveals a side of Zuigan-ji that cannot be seen during the day.
