For rowing, wear breathable long-sleeved shirts and trousers, or arm sleeves and shoe covers. Those who don't mind getting a tan can wear short sleeves and shorts. Try to avoid wearing cotton or denim and other easily absorbent materials to avoid affecting your activities. You may want to bring your own sunglasses and sun hat.
For those who wear glasses, it is recommended to wear glasses straps or contact lenses.
Please keep the items you bring on board as simple as possible; basically, just water, dry food, and sun protection products.
Please take precautions to waterproof other personal items, and avoid bringing items you don't want to get wet into the water. If you need to bring non-waterproof electronic devices on board, please prepare your own waterproof bags (such as waterproof phone bags). We provide 15L waterproof bags, but we cannot guarantee 100% waterproofing.
Your clothes will get wet while boating, so please remember to bring a clean change of clothes to change into after you get ashore. Luggage that you don't take on the boat can be left at the base or in your vehicle and retrieved at the end of the trip.
Members of the morning and afternoon tours should remember to take precautions against the sun, including wearing sun-protective clothing or sun protection products.
Seasickness is very common during sea activities. It is strongly recommended that you bring your own seasickness medication and take it after the dress code instruction. Also, make sure you get enough sleep the night before setting sail so that you can have a comfortable and enjoyable trip.
Guests driving can proceed directly to the base; parking is available. Guests requiring short-distance shuttle service within the Dong'ao area should inform us in advance.
(Pick-up locations: Dong'ao Railway Station, Dong'ao local hostels, any location in the Dong'ao area is acceptable)
The tour operates on a group-in, group-out basis. Please arrive at the meeting point on time before the designated meeting time. If you are more than ten minutes late, you will not be able to participate in the tour and will not be eligible for a refund. You can only postpone your trip. Please pay special attention to avoid being late to prevent affecting your rights.
Friendly reminder: Traffic congestion and other issues may occur on weekends or holidays, which may extend the travel time. Please leave early to avoid being unable to arrive at the meeting point on time due to traffic jams or other situations.
The SUP Stand-Up Paddle experience in Dong'ao Bay is a half-day adventure that combines paddling with exploring natural wonders. You'll launch from Dong'ao Bay, paddle through Taiwan's largest sea cave, and land at the exclusive Wuyanjiao secret beach. The return journey is made easy by a powerboat tow, allowing you to relax and enjoy the scenic views. It's an opportunity to admire magnificent cliffs and the boundless Pacific Ocean.
While basic comfort in water is helpful, knowing how to swim is not strictly required for the SUP Stand-Up Paddle tour to Wuyanjiao Sea Cave. Participants are provided with life vests, and a professional coach accompanies the group at all times, ensuring safety throughout the activity. The tour emphasizes a guided, secure experience.
This SUP Stand-Up Paddle experience allows you to stand or kneel on a board, offering a higher vantage point for panoramic views of the cliffs and ocean. Unlike kayaking, which typically involves sitting, SUP engages more core muscles for balance. The tour also includes a powerboat return, making the journey back effortless and allowing exploration of more distant secret spots.
The SUP Stand-Up Paddle half-day tour package includes a professional coach, comprehensive insurance, river trekking shoes, a 15L waterproof bag, a helmet, and a life vest for your safety and convenience. Commemorative photos taken by the coach with a waterproof camera are also provided. Additionally, shower facilities and hairdryers are available at the base after the activity.
For the SUP Stand-Up Paddle adventure, it's recommended to wear a swimsuit or quick-drying clothing suitable for water activities. You'll be provided with river trekking shoes, a life vest, helmet, and a 15L waterproof bag for personal items. Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, and a change of clothes for after the shower.
To minimize seasickness during the SUP Stand-Up Paddle tour, consider taking motion sickness medication an hour before departure. Focus on the horizon rather than the board, and stay hydrated. If you start to feel unwell, you can sit or kneel on your board to increase stability, and inform your coach who can provide assistance.
During the SUP tour to Wuyanjiao Sea Cave, you'll experience paddling through Taiwan's largest sea cave, an impressive geological formation. The journey culminates in landing at the remote Wuyanjiao secret beach, known as the starting point of the Central Mountain Range, accessible only by paddling or climbing. This offers unique photo opportunities and a chance to relax by a secluded shoreline.
The Dong'ao Bay SUP Stand-Up Paddle experience offers multiple departure times: 04:00 AM (dawn tour), 09:00 AM (morning tour), and 01:30 PM (afternoon tour). Please note that the dawn tour time shifts to 04:30 AM in October due to later sunrises. The total activity duration is approximately 4 to 5 hours, though this may vary depending on wind and wave conditions.
