Ski gear rental tips: In Japan, ski gear rentals typically include skis/snowboards, boots, and poles, as well as ski jackets and pants. Some rental shops may also provide helmets. Generally, gloves, socks, goggles, and headwear (neck warmers, scarves, masks, beanies, towels, sunglasses, or UV-protection glasses) are not included. It is recommended to confirm in advance if helmet rental is available and to bring your own gloves. Ski boots should be snug rather than loose. As long as they do not cause pain, it is best to wear a smaller, tighter size. The ideal fit is when the forefoot and instep cannot move, the heel feels slightly movable but with difficulty, the big toe can wiggle slightly, and the lower leg is tightly wrapped.
