- Exhibition Introduction -

Mika Ninagawa returns to Taipei after a 10-year hiatus with a major solo exhibition, "Mika Ninagawa Exhibition with EiM: Light Beyond, Shadow of This Shore." This is the largest immersive art experience overseas, co-curated by Ninagawa and the technology art team EiM. Breaking away from her previous focus on still photography, the exhibition uses 3D installations and video works to guide viewers on a sensory journey where virtual and reality intertwine. The exhibition comprises eight sections, including a vibrant garden in full bloom and a fantastical space where 2,000 crystal beads move with the light and shadow. Combined with 720-degree panoramic video, it constructs an infinitely extending visual illusion, delivering an unprecedented immersive experience.

About Mika Ninagawa: Photographer, film director, and contemporary artist. With photography at her core, her work spans film, video, and spatial installation art. "Whispers of Light, Dreams of Color" is an installation art piece composed of 2,000 crystal beads interwoven together, creating a tapestry of light and color. Patterns such as butterflies, flowers, hearts, and eyes not only evoke cherished memories, like tiny gemstones, but also symbolize the shift in perspective from "the viewed" to "the observer." The work also pays tribute to women who can only express themselves through handicrafts; the shimmering light seems to recreate their quiet passion and prayer.
