While a rental car is highly recommended for exploring Miyakojima's diverse attractions at your own pace, alternatives include local bus services which connect major towns and some popular spots. However, bus routes can be infrequent. Taxis are available, but can be costly for extensive travel. Consider cycling for shorter distances, or inquire about shuttle services provided by accommodations or tour operators for specific destinations.
Yes, taxi services are available on Miyakojima, particularly around the airport, main towns, and popular tourist areas. However, outside these key locations, it might be challenging to flag one down, and wait times can vary. For longer distances or specific itineraries, pre-booking a taxi is advisable, especially if you plan to visit remote beaches or attractions.
Renting a car is generally considered the most convenient and flexible way to explore Miyakojima's many beautiful beaches and scenic spots, as public transportation options are limited. While it's possible to get around using a combination of buses and taxis, having a car allows for spontaneous stops and easier access to more remote locations, enhancing your overall island experience.
The Miyakojima Sunset SUP experience is unique primarily due to its use of "Clear Sap" transparent boards, allowing you to see the "Miyako Blue" waters beneath you even without fully entering the sea. Combining this with a spectacular sunset viewing from the ocean perspective, guided by friendly local experts, creates an exceptionally memorable and visually stunning activity distinct from typical marine tours.
Yes, participants in the Miyakojima Sunset SUP experience can look forward to complimentary photo shoots throughout the activity. An unlimited number of photos and their data will be provided to you on the day of the experience, allowing you to cherish and share the beautiful memories captured during your time on the water.
The Miyakojima Sunset SUP experience is designed to be inclusive, welcoming small children and even pregnant women after a health condition check. Guides with backgrounds in early childhood education are available to provide detailed support. It is crucial to contact the organizers in advance to discuss individual health conditions and ensure appropriate preparations are made for a safe and enjoyable experience.
A "Clear Sap" board is a transparent stand-up paddleboard that allows you to see through the board into the ocean below while navigating the sea surface. During the Miyakojima experience, you can clearly observe the stunning "Miyako Blue" waters, vibrant marine life, and the breathtaking underwater scenery without needing to immerse yourself fully in the sea, offering a unique perspective of the island's natural beauty.
Swimming or fully entering the water is not a mandatory requirement for the Miyakojima Clear Sap experience. The transparent board allows you to enjoy the beautiful "Miyako Blue" sea and marine life from above. While you may get splashed, the primary goal is to paddle and observe the underwater world without needing to swim, making it accessible even for those who prefer to stay mostly dry.
