This time, I arranged a rickshaw tour for my parents in Yufuin. The scenery along the way was beautiful, and the rickshaw driver was very friendly. He helped with taking photos and even used translation software to communicate. Although it was winter, the rickshaw was well-equipped with warm and windproof gear, so there was nothing to worry about. My parents' experience was definitely worth coming back for.

A very fulfilling day trip! From the mysterious cobalt blue of Beppu's underwater hellscape to close encounters with wildlife at the Kyushu Nature Zoo, the itinerary flowed smoothly. After a leisurely afternoon stroll in the town of Yufuin, we finally took the dreamy "Yufuin no Mori" vintage train back to Hakata. The train is just a short walk from the station, making the entire route very convenient for independent travelers—a perfect route combining beautiful scenery and unique experiences.

This is an itinerary that maximizes efficiency. Although the time spent at each attraction is short, it's a highly recommended option for travelers who want to see the highlights of Northern Kyushu (Beppu, Zoo, Yufuin) in one day. 🕒【Itinerary Arrangement and Pace】(Tested order on 2/12) The tour guide flexibly adjusted the order of attractions to avoid crowds, which is a positive point: • First stop: Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) & Kamado Jigoku (40 minutes each) • The timing was perfect, allowing enough time to capture the classic cobalt blue pool water, experience inhaling the hot spring steam, and eat a hot spring egg. • Second stop: Kyushu Natural Zoo (45 minutes after the tour bus through the wildlife area) • This stop is relatively compact, focusing on quickly visiting key areas. The tour bus drives directly into the wildlife area. Although there's no experience with the feeding carts, it's a precise and quick way for travelers who just want to see the wildlife and take photos. • Third stop: Yufuin & Kinrin Lake (2 hours, including lunch) • The final stop is Yufuin. The 2-hour tour includes finding a restaurant for lunch and a walk to Lake Kinrin. It's recommended to find a restaurant as soon as you get off the bus, eat, and then quickly walk to Lake Kinrin for photos. This day trip with my 2-year-old was a fantastic experience overall. The tour guide was incredibly friendly and professional, especially kind to parents with young children. The itinerary was well-paced, avoiding any feeling of rushing. I highly recommend it to families with children like ours. Although the journey is long, the bus was comfortable, and my child was able to nap peacefully on the bus. The scenery at Yufuin and the Hell Pilgrimage was breathtaking, and the area was spotless. The guide also helped confirm some details. For families looking to avoid the hassle of transfers, this is a very convenient option!

Solo travel is no problem either; you can catch up on sleep on the bus and then sightsee after getting off. The outbound journey started at platform number 1 on the first floor of Hearts Bus Station, and the return journey ended at the Chikushi Exit of Hakata Station, super close to my hotel. Mount Yufu was magnificent and beautiful! I thought the Kamado Jigoku (Hell of the Hearth) was alright; it would be fine to just visit Dazaifu instead.
